Alright folks, this post comes after my husband and I seeing one too many pizza commercials! We kinda love pizza... a lot! I heard the other day that the thing that is the hardest for you to give us is probably the thing making you fat... ENTER: Pizza
HA! Okay so here we find ourselves. I ventured to Akins today and hunted down the magical ingredients for a pizza to fit into our NO dairy, NO wheats, NO sugar diet.
Here are the ingredients I found!!
Gluten Free personal pizza crusts
Organic pizza sauce
Lactose free mozzarella cheese
Pizza spices, basically dried pizza toppings
Vegan pepperoni
Lean ground beef
Mushrooms
Parmesan flavor topping
**This is my own version of pizza, im sure you can make any changes to toppings that remain in your diet restrictions**
A side salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and organic Balsamic Vinaigrette (my fav!)
I started by cooking the meat in a skillet.
I added some of the Pizza spices to the meat.
Meanwhile, I layed out the personal crusts.
Added the sauce, sprinkled a pinch more of the Pizza spices then added the "cheese."
Next:
Added the beef, pepperoni, and mushrooms, a bit more of cheese.
Cooked in the oven at 375 until golden brown and the cheese melted.
The Final Result!
I also made a pitcher of tea, using the Detox tea! Put it over ice and added a packet of truvia!
I have to say that I was pretty proud of myself as we sat down to eat.
It was so good :) And more than satisfied our pizza craving. I will say that the two of us could probably have split one pizza and had the salad. We were pretty full after we finished. But it was good to know that we were full of healthy pizza :)
